Ask Dr. Dan about full mouth rehabilitation.

Full mouth rehabilitation rebuilds the health, function and appearance of most or all of your teeth in one coordinated plan. It is for smiles where problems have built up over years: teeth worn down by grinding, many failing restorations, broken or missing teeth, or a bite that no longer works comfortably. Treating one tooth at a time rarely fixes these cases, because the problem is the system as a whole.

Dr. Dan Shaer plans full mouth cases like an architect plans a building, starting with the foundation. The bite and function are designed first, the aesthetics are designed with them, and every treatment follows one blueprint that you review before anything begins.

What is full mouth rehabilitation?

Full mouth rehabilitation, sometimes called full mouth reconstruction, is a comprehensive plan that restores the teeth, the bite and the appearance of the smile together. Unlike a smile makeover, which mainly improves the teeth you see when you smile, full mouth rehabilitation also rebuilds function: how the upper and lower teeth meet, the position of the jaw, and the back teeth that do most of the chewing.

Because every tooth affects the others, the plan is designed as a whole. Each restoration, implant or aligner stage is chosen to support the final result, rather than patching problems one at a time.

What a full mouth plan can include

Every plan is different. Depending on your needs, it may combine:

Who needs full mouth rehabilitation?

You may be a good candidate if any of these sound familiar:

  • Teeth worn down by grinding, clenching or acid erosion
  • Many old, failing or mismatched restorations
  • Several missing, broken or severely damaged teeth
  • A bite that feels uncomfortable or has collapsed
  • Jaw discomfort related to the bite
  • Patients who want a complete functional and aesthetic redesign

The only way to know for sure is an examination with digital scans. Dr. Dan tells you honestly whether this is the right option for you, and what the alternatives are.

Why the bite comes first

The bite is the foundation of a full mouth case. When teeth are worn, the bite can collapse, which affects how the jaw closes, how the face looks in profile and how much stress each tooth takes. Rebuilding beautiful teeth on an unbalanced bite risks chips, fractures and discomfort later.

That is why bite alignment and jaw position are evaluated at the start. The new bite is designed and tested, and the teeth are rebuilt to support it, so the result is comfortable and durable, not only attractive.

Full mouth rehabilitation, step by step

Every treatment at the studio follows the same mapped, guided process, from your first consultation to the final reveal.

  1. 01

    Consultation and digital scanning

Dr. Dan listens to what you want to change, examines your teeth and gums, and takes digital scans, photos and video of your smile to confirm whether full mouth rehabilitation is the right choice for you.

  2. 02

    Facial analysis and 3D mapping

Your face, lips and bite are measured so the plan is built around your proportions, not a template.

  3. 03

    Your smile blueprint

The treatment is designed digitally. You review the blueprint and ask for changes before any treatment begins.

  4. 04

    Mockup and preview

A mockup lets you preview the design before anything is final, so you know what you are agreeing to.

  5. 05

    Treatment

Treatment is completed in planned phases: gum health first, then any orthodontic or implant stages, then provisional and final restorations, all following the approved blueprint.

  6. 06

    Final reveal and after care

Your result is checked for fit, bite and comfort, and you leave with a care plan to keep it looking its best.

How long full mouth rehabilitation takes

Comprehensive cases are completed in phases. Gum health and urgent problems are addressed first, then any orthodontic or implant stages, then the final restorations. The overall timeline depends on what your plan includes, especially implant healing, and every phase is set out in your plan before treatment begins.

Provisional restorations are often used along the way, which lets you test the new bite and appearance before the final work is made.

Protecting your new smile

After treatment you receive an after care program. Daily brushing and cleaning between the teeth and around any implants, regular checkups and, for many patients, a night guard help protect the result for years to come.

How much does full mouth rehabilitation cost in Beverly Hills?

Every full mouth plan is different, so the fee depends on what yours includes. If your plan replaces teeth with implants, implant supported dentures start at $8,000 and full mouth dental implants start at $16,000. Plans built on veneers, crowns and restorations are priced from your written treatment plan. What shapes your fee:

  • Which treatments the plan combines
  • How many teeth are restored or replaced
  • Implants, grafting or orthodontics included
  • The number of phases and provisional restorations

Your exact fee is confirmed in a written plan after your consultation, before any treatment begins.

Payment options include cash, check or card, flexible spending accounts and select insurance coverage, plus third party financing through Cherry, Sunbit and CareCredit, which offer low monthly payment plans. For eligible patients there is a no interest option if fees are paid in full within a set number of months.

The most expensive dental work is often the work that has to be redone. Careful planning, quality materials and precise execution are what make a result last.
